Key Housing Rights Issues
Looking closely at the main issues

The issues involved in housing rights are highly complex, varying from the developed to the developing world and changing over time. However a number of key issues are central to an understanding of housing rights, and are in most cases relevant to an examination of housing rights issues anywhere in the world.

This section takes a closer look at the following key issues (this is not an exhaustive list and will be added to in future):

Adequate housing
According to the United Nations, more than 1 billion people worldwide are inadequately housed today. This section examines how the term adequate housing is defined under international human rights law.

Women and housing rights
